There’s an intervention in therapy called prescribing the symptom. It needs to be done in the appropriate setting/situation to be effective. PTS looks something like, prescribing a married couple to argue more. If done right, the goal is for them to see how unhelpful this is to what they are trying to achieve in therapy. Today, I want to prescribe to you a Helpful Habit.
- Going to bed an hour earlier
- Waking up an hour earlier
- Journaling in the morning
- Reducing your sugar intake
- Committing to a nightly skin care routine
- Drinking more water
- Making healthy meal choices
Research has shown that it takes 21 days to develop a habit and 90 days for it to stick. Today, I want to prescribe to you helpful habits to promote self-growth. Take what you can from the list and feel free to add more to the conversation in the comments section.
